RAC Arena in 2027: the venue

Opened in November 2012 as Perth Arena and renamed RAC Arena in 2019, this is Western Australia’s main indoor venue and the home court of the Perth Wildcats. Its angular, chequered façade was inspired by the Eternity puzzle, and the roof over the court can open. For concerts the floor is set up either as general-admission standing or as reserved seats, with two main tiers of seating wrapping the bowl. In 2027 it carries most of the city’s big indoor tours: Bryson Tiller, Simple Minds, Kehlani, Bryan Adams, Evanescence, Empire of the Sun, Jungle, Westlife and a four-night stand from Radiohead in May. It also hosts the Perth leg of the United Cup tennis in January. Its address, 700 Wellington Street, puts it within walking distance of both the CBD and Northbridge, which shapes how most people plan the evening.

Getting to RAC Arena

RAC Arena sits on Wellington Street at the western edge of the CBD, so you can reach it without a car. Buses from the Perth Busport in the City Link precinct and along Wellington Street drop you within a few minutes of the doors, and City West station on the Fremantle line is a few minutes’ walk west. From Perth station or Perth Underground (trains from Joondalup, Mandurah, Midland, Armadale and the airport line) allow around ten to fifteen minutes on foot along Wellington Street. The free CAT buses that loop the city stop nearby. Parking in surrounding city car parks fills early on show nights and exits slowly afterwards, so public transport is usually the faster way home.

Before your RAC Arena concert

Floor GA tickets put you closest, but the lower-tier sides give a clear sightline with a seat to fall back on. Upper-tier rows near the stage end can feel steep, so take your time on the stairs. Entry lines build from about an hour before the support act; arriving early with a ticket ready on your phone saves time. Before the show, the CBD and Northbridge are both within walking distance for food.
