Which ticket outlet sells which Perth venue

The first rule for Perth is to know who the official seller is before the sale opens. RAC Arena sells through Ticketek, and the arena says plainly that Ticketek is its only authorised outlet. Optus Stadium concerts and AFL matches are normally sold through Ticketek too. HBF Park and the Perth High Performance Centre (the former HBF Stadium) belong to the VenuesWest network, which has a long-running ticketing partnership with Ticketmaster.

Theatres and clubs vary from show to show. The Astor, the Regal, the Riverside Theatre, Metro City, The Rechabite, Freo.Social and The Ice Cream Factory may use Ticketek, Ticketmaster, Oztix, Moshtix, DICE or Eventbrite depending on the promoter. The official announcement for each tour names the outlet; if a link you are following points anywhere else, stop and check.

Presales: who gets in before the general sale — Perth gig tickets

A typical Australian tour runs a ladder of presales over two or three days before the general public sale. The usual rungs are:

  • Artist presale — via the artist’s mailing list or fan club, often the earliest.
  • Card presales — American Express and Mastercard run their own windows for selected tours.
  • Telco presales — Telstra Plus and Optus Perks offer member access to many arena and stadium tours.
  • Promoter presales — My Live Nation, Frontier Touring members, Chugg members and TEG lists, depending on who is bringing the act to Australia.
  • Venue presales — some venues send codes to newsletter subscribers.

Each presale has its own allocation, so missing one does not mean the show is gone. Our free alert tells you which presales a Perth date has and when each one opens.

Perth time vs east-coast time on sale day — tickets for 2027 shows

Western Australia runs on AWST (UTC+8) all year and does not use daylight saving. From early October to early April, when New South Wales, Victoria, the ACT, Tasmania and South Australia move their clocks forward, Perth is three hours behind Sydney and Melbourne; Brisbane, which also skips daylight saving, stays two hours ahead of Perth all year. Most promoters list each city’s sale in local time, but national presales and fan-club codes are sometimes announced in AEDT only.

That matters: a “9am AEDT” presale opens at 6am in Perth. Read the time zone in every announcement carefully, set alarms in Perth time, and do not assume a Perth show goes on sale an hour or two after Sydney’s. Our alerts always convert times to AWST.

Buying tickets in Perth: getting through the online queue

For a big release, Ticketek and Ticketmaster open a waiting room shortly before the sale and then assign places at random or in order of arrival, depending on the event. Log in to your account in advance, save your payment details, and make sure your phone can receive verification codes. One device per account is the safest approach — duplicate sessions can be flagged. If you are buying for friends, agree beforehand who buys and how many tickets you need; there is normally a per-account limit. Check the limit in the event listing before the sale, because the basket will refuse anything above it.

When you reach the front, decide fast. Holding seats in your basket while you deliberate can see them released back to other buyers. If the first choice of section is gone, the next-best price tier or a second night (when a promoter adds one) often still has good options.

Resale and Western Australia’s anti-scalping law — buying tickets in Perth

WA has its own law on ticket reselling, the Ticket Scalping Act 2021. Under it, tickets for events in the state cannot be resold for more than 10% above their original price, and using bots to buy tickets in bulk is banned. Anyone advertising a resale ticket must state the original price and the seat details.

The safest way to sell a ticket you cannot use is through the original seller’s own exchange: Ticketek Marketplace or Ticketmaster’s resale service, where available, which reissue the ticket in the buyer’s name. Be wary of marketplaces or social-media posts asking for bank transfers, and of screenshots of tickets — many tickets are now mobile-only and rotate their barcode.

Accessible seating and the Companion Card — buying tickets in Perth

RAC Arena, Optus Stadium, HBF Park and the Perth theatres all have accessible seating, but it is sold in limited numbers and usually through a dedicated phone line or form rather than the general online map. Contact the outlet’s accessibility team as early as you can on sale day.

If you or the person you are buying for holds a Companion Card, many venues and ticket sellers in WA will issue a free ticket for the companion who provides support. Have the card number ready and ask before you buy, because the companion seat must be booked alongside yours.

Planning around a Perth show — tickets for 2027 shows

Perth’s summer season brings stadium and outdoor shows that finish late, so plan your return trip early: Transperth adds trains after big events at Optus Stadium, but queues build. For regional visitors coming from Bunbury, Mandurah or the Wheatbelt, book accommodation as soon as the date is confirmed — February nights during FRINGE WORLD and Perth Festival are among the busiest of the year. If a sought-after show sells out in Perth, remember that a second date is often added after the first sale, which is exactly what our alert is designed to catch.
