Riverside Theatre 2027

What to know about Riverside Theatre

The Riverside Theatre is the large, fully seated auditorium of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, which opened on the river foreshore in 2004. It is a conference room by day and a concert theatre by night, with a raked, fully seated auditorium that keeps sightlines clear from most rows. With Perth Concert Hall closed until 2028, it is one of the main homes for seated touring shows in 2027. Joe Jackson plays here on 9 February and Delta Goodrem brings the PURE World Tour on 22 April. Outside concert nights it stages conferences, award evenings and touring productions. Because it faces the river, it is easy to combine a show with a walk around Elizabeth Quay and the foreshore on a summer evening.

Getting to Riverside Theatre

The Riverside Theatre is inside the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Mounts Bay Road, which puts it almost on top of Elizabeth Quay station on the Mandurah line and the Elizabeth Quay bus station. From Perth station it is a 10–15 minute walk south through the city, or one stop on the train via Perth Underground and the Mandurah line. Ferries across the river from South Perth land at Elizabeth Quay, a few minutes away. The centre has its own paid car park underneath, which is handy for seated shows but slow to empty at the end of the night.

Tips for a show at Riverside Theatre

Because it is a seated room, the choice is mostly about distance from the stage: the front half of the stalls is best for faces, while the rear rows suit big productions with screens and lighting. Allow time to find the right foyer inside the centre on your first visit. Elizabeth Quay and the city’s western end have restaurants a short walk away.
