Fans searching for Silverchair Perth 2027 will not find a concert. Silverchair entered indefinite hibernation in 2011, and Daniel Johns publicly ruled out a reunion in 2021. This page gives the verified status as of 9 October 2026, a look back at the band's run, and details of our free email alert.
Silverchair Perth 2027: is a show possible?
Realistically, no. Silverchair has not performed as a band since announcing its hiatus in May 2011, and nothing has been announced for Perth or anywhere else for 2027. The band said at the time that the spark had gone between its three members.
Daniel Johns went further in October 2021, saying Silverchair would not reunite and linking that decision to the damage that long-running public abuse had done to his mental health. He has continued to make music but has said he does not intend to play live again. Drummer Ben Gillies and bassist Chris Joannou have likewise not announced any Silverchair plans. A Perth date in 2027 is therefore not something to wait for, and any ticket offer for one is unofficial.
Silverchair Perth 2027: the band's journey in brief
Silverchair began in Newcastle, New South Wales, in 1992 as teenage trio Innocent Criminals, and quickly became one of Australia's biggest rock exports. The band's reach was international: at Rock in Rio on 21 January 2001 it played to a crowd reported at 250,000 people.
At home, Silverchair toured the country several times and played the national Big Day Out festival, which included a Perth leg, as well as the 2007 Across the Great Divide tour with Powderfinger. We could not verify specific Perth venues, so we leave them out. After the 2011 hiatus, the band's story continued only through Daniel Johns's solo records, including the 2022 album FutureNever, released more than a decade after the band last played together and without any accompanying tour.
